A story of a marriage

This is my Boss and his Wife.

They have been married for just over a year now, and seem to be quite happy. The tale surrounding their marriage is quite an interesting one, so let me share it with you.

Two years ago, the future-Wife started working for the company, as a receptionist/personal assistant to the Boss. Apparently She was very quiet while working there, and did not talk much with the Boss.

One fateful day, She was out shopping for office pooja items with the Boss after work. After they finished their shopping, they walked back to the bus stand so that She could catch a bus home. However there was a busy road in between them and the bus stand, and she was nervous to cross the traffic. So the Boss offered to hold Her hand while they crossed the road, and then let go as soon as they had crossed. She hopped on a bus and went home.

Little did they know, that they had been spotted by her Aunt and Grandmother! These two women wasted no time in calling her mother to gossip and chastise her about the loose behaviour of her daughter.

By the time the innocent young girl reached home, her mother was convinced she was having an affair. They fought when she reached home and her mother forbade her to go to the office anymore, wanting to save her daughter’s reputation.

So She called the Boss and informed him that Dhe would not be coming to office anymore. She was upset and confused about what was happening.

A week passed.

The Boss arrived at her doorstep and proposed marriage. Apparently he had suddenly realised his feelings for her during her absence, and wanted to marry her.

They were married a week later, and lived happily ever after.

It seems as though there may have been some manoeuvring on her behalf, in order to orchestrate a situation where the Boss felt as though he had to step in to save her reputation.

The Boss seems to be quite an honourable man, and belongs to a reasonably wealthy, high caste family. A very desirable husband.

Apparently he was threatened by her cousins and uncles after they saw them together, and felt as though he needed to marry her in order to save her. And to save her reputation.

So who knows. Maybe they were seen together on purpose. Maybe she made it seem as though he had been acting with less honour and innocence than he had been. Maybe she had let her family believe that she was madly in love with him and he was playing with her.

I guess we will never know the truth of the situation.

But they are now married. Happily ever after.

My boss and his wife visit their astrologer regularly, and consult him on most of the decisions they make in their lives.

Their astrologer told them that the house that they were living in was causing them problems in their business and personal lives, because of its physical location and negative energy in the house. So they decided to move, and after three weeks of searching finally found a nice apartment, in a nice quiet neighbourhood, and paid a deposit on the the rent.

So they gave four weeks notice in their current apartment, and after three weeks they went back to the astrologer to find out a date for them to be able to move into the new apartment – an auspicious day that will start them off on the right foot in the new house. But the astrologer did some calculations about the new apartment’s location, altitude, and outlook, and told them that this apartment was no good either. It would bring them negative energy as well, and no problems would be solved. So with two days to go in the old apartment, they needed to find a new place to stay.

After a morning of confusion and problem solving, they decided that there was nothing to be done but call the landlord, apologise and tell him to keep the deposit, and find somewhere else to move to in two days.

So they called the landlord, and told him their dilemma. Luckily, he had another apartment in the same building. Because it was on a different floor and faced a different direction, their astrologer said that this would be suitable.

And they moved the next day.

And from now on I can absolutely promise that you will all receive your salary in full, on the 5th of every month… Except for today, this week the salary will be available to you in one or two days time.

РMy Boss (5 March 2012).

As of the 13th (today), salary has still not been received by everyone in the office.

Biryani for Lunch

Today I went for chicken biryani for lunch. It is the first biryani I have had since coming to Coimbatore, and it was pretty good.

I went with two of the guys from work, Bharathi and Rajkumar. We were originally looking for a restaurant close to our office, but Bharathi got a little lost. We ended up driving a bit further and stopped at another place selling biryani. They are very common here.

I was fairly happy with the taste, but Rajkumar informed me that it was tasteless. I don’t think my palette is discerning enough yet to tell the difference.

After lunch I had a can of Thums Up, a misspelt cousin of Coca Cola and Pepsi. It is unique to India and I enjoy it… but again it wasn’t appreciated by Bharathi and Rajkumar. I felt pretty cool riding along on the back of Scooty drinking my can of drink at the same time though.

The sun is getting incredibly hot, and I think I may have burned a little in the 40 minutes that we were driving. Definitely need to remember to wear my SPF50 sunscreen everyday. Rajkumar complained that the sun was very affecting. So it is nice that I am not the only one!
